One of the most common messages I get is a photo of someone's boots with the question: "Which kilties will match these?" So here's my running list of pairings by boot brand, all leathers I've recommended to customers.
New to kilties? Start with What Are Boot Kilties? for the cuts and lengths.
Red Wing
For Red Wing boots in Amber Harness or Copper Rough & Tough, go with Oro Harness. For Red Wing Beckmans, I've also paired Premium Black Cherry in the Blind cut.
Grant Stone
Grant Stone's Crimson Chromexcel is the same leather as Horween Brown Chromexcel, so Horween Brown Chromexcel kilties are an exact match. I compared two of their most popular boots here:

Alden
The Alden Indy is another one that pairs perfectly with Horween Brown Chromexcel. See my Alden 403 vs 405 comparison if you're shopping for Indys.
Truman
For Truman Ink, go with Horween INK Cavalier. Truman uses a lot of bold and exotic leathers, so if yours is something unusual, send me a photo. Planning a Truman purchase? My Truman P-79 sizing guide will help.
Viberg
Viberg tends to stick with classic leathers like Chromexcel, which makes matching easy: brown, black, or natural Chromexcel kilties line right up. In my Viberg Service Boot review I also liked pairing a more unusual leather, like horse rump, for some personality.
Wickett & Craig, Maryam, and roughout boots
- Wickett & Craig burgundy: Seidel Oxblood Double Shot
- Snuff or tan roughout boots: C.F. Stead Acorn Rambler
- Maryam horsebutt: Macchiato horserump
Don't see your boots?
Send me a photo or link through the chat and I'll recommend a match. If you want something different, like contrast stitching, no holes, or a longer length for tall boots, choose the "Customized" option on any listing. Shop all kilties.
