HELM Bradley shoe in Teak leather

HELM Bradley in Teak: Construction, Sizing and Fit

I've got a pair of HELM Bradley shoes in Teak, size 8.5D in the Boots & More section for $50. They've been worn a handful of times and are in excellent condition. Here's what you need to know.

The leather: Balthazar in Teak

The upper is supple full-grain Balthazar leather in Teak, and the shoe is fully lined in black leather.

How it's built

  • Construction: Blake Rapid stitch, and the shoe is fully resoleable
  • Midsole: HELM's signature white composite rubber midsole
  • Sole: Fineline
  • Eyelets: brass finish
  • Last: 415
  • Weight: about 1.5 lbs
  • Laces: two sets of 33" round waxed cotton laces in brown
  • Made in: Brazil, handcrafted

Sizing

These are an 8.5D. HELM says the Bradley fits true to size, and if you're between sizes they suggest sizing down. If you wear an 8.5 in most US boots, these should be your size.

Pre-owned footwear is sold as-is and can't be returned (see the Return & Refund Policy), so please double-check the size. If you're unsure, message me before ordering.

Dialing in the fit

If a shoe feels a touch roomy, a leather insole is an easy fix. My Thin (5 oz) insole takes up about a half size. If your heel slips, a half insole lifts the heel without crowding your toes. Read more in How to Choose the Right Leather Insole Thickness and How to Fix Heel Slip.
